Hi there,
I'm Michelle.

I build things with code.

About

Hi! I'm Michelle and welcome to my professional internet space! I'm a passionate introverted extrovert with a BCIT Computer Systems Technology diploma and a cup of tea (be it hot steaming genmaicha or iced Library Blend) within a metre of me. I enjoy building things with code (since high school), along with figuring out the “why” behind why something works...or doesn't.

I have a year of experience from working in startup-like environments, one of which was within a regional household name. During that year, I worked alongside non-technical stakeholders, more experienced developers, and other team members who raised my standards for what's expected in a deliverable (be it a web application, a support ticket, or documentation). From those environments, I've had the opportunity to create deliverables that are easy to understand and use (and mantain for code).

Outside of creating code and learning more about technology (...and tea), I also enjoy baking a new dessert, the good ol' keyboard-and-mouse gaming, learning a new human language (CEFR A2.1 in both French and German), and talking about aspects of Asian popular culture at events.

Feel free to check out my résumé*, connect with me on LinkedIn, or drop a line through [firstname] at cellehcim dot com.

* - If you would like a version that has my phone number and Stealth Startup's identifying information on it, please message me on LinkedIn.

The Unofficial Tales of the Hunger Games API

Before Katniss and Peeta, who were the seventy-three children who won the Hunger Games? Christian Blanco was one of the people who had that question in his head, to which he created a universe containing his answer. This API catalogs those seventy-three children (along with Katniss and Peeta as Victors).

  • The Bus Fuller Golf Classic 2022 Website Redesign

With COVID (mostly) out of the way, it's time for another Bus Fuller Classic event at Earls. Marketing also wanted the site to have company branding, along with the usual 2022 information. I not only brought a given desktop wireframe to life, but also designed the mobile interface and mantained the website for the team post-development.

  • This site!

I figured that as I gain experience and work on more projects, I'd add more content for this website. This means manually adding more divs, which wasn't something I felt comfortable doing (due to having more code lines to mantain). I integrated Hugo into this site, so I can power it using a few easy-to-mantain (and easy-to-read) YAML files. Yum!
